Marching on!

Wraf on Tour Charity relay now has over 800 past and present women of the Royal Air Force signed up to take part.  The route is nearly finalised,  offers of support are coming in.  We have now had three radio interviews – BBC Radio Cumbria, BFBS and BBC Radio Newcastle.  Ladies have been tweeting, info has gone out on RAF networks, and we are contacting local newspapers.  We do need much more publicity and some strong celebrity support would definitely help.  We need more wrafs to take part, we need people to support during the relay, and most importantly we need donations to keep coming in to http://www.justgiving.com/teams/WRAFontour  website for anyone wanting to register http://www.wrafsontour.com although if you have already registered through fb you don’t need to do it again.  Keep spreading the word.

Interview with BBC Radio Cumbria 16/7/13

Wrafs On Tour’s first radio interview.  Talking about the inspiration for the event, and the charities we are supporting. Was very nervous but hopefully the first of many to publicise this event.  Still looking for more volunteers – we are heading towards 600 now.

About Us

We are a group of women who have all served, or are still serving in the Royal Air Force.  We are of all shapes, sizes, ages and most importantly fitness levels.  We wanted to do something to raise money for charity and as many of us are not fit enough to undertake marathon distance runs or anything of that sort, we came up with the ideas of joining together and doing a relay round Britain.  All of us only doing as much as we are able.  This, in my opinion, also serves as an example of what is so great about the women of the Royal Air Force, we all have different strengths but as a team, we can achieve great things.  We hope to raise lots of money for our two charities, Macmillan Cancer Care and RAFA (the Royal Air Force Association).  Details of the event, and our progress will be updated here.
